About Hugh Clover

Hugh began his professional career working for his local evening newspaper on leaving school in 1972. He spent five years writing news and sports stories, and latterly, features.

Following this Hugh moved into social work gaining the Certificate for Qualification in Social Work. Most of his experience in social work came working in residential care and special schools.

In 1981 Hugh moved into special education gaining his B.Ed (Hons) three years later. His fifteen year career in special education saw him work with a wide range of pupils. These included children and young people with severe and moderate learning difficulties, challenging behaviour, and autism. During his time in education, Hugh studied for his MA in Education, which he received from the University of East Anglia .

Hugh’s interest in hypnotherapy was fuelled by witnessing a hypnotist in action while still working as a journalist. This interest never died. He completed his training with the Atkinson-Ball College of Hypnotherapy and Hypnohealing in 1994 from where he graduated to the Corporation of Advanced Hypnotherapy .

Hugh is also a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy , and a Master NLP practitioner having trained with one of the founders of NLP, Richard Bandler, at the Society of Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

Hugh is a member of the Dedham Vale Network . 

Hugh feels his background in journalism, social work and education has given him a broad experience of life. He has worked with a wide range of people in many different situations. He believes this experience to be of great benefit in his work as a hypnotherapist.

Hugh is married with two teenage children.

Hugh practices from home at Stratford St Mary on the Essex/Suffolk border, which is ideally suited for clients wishing to benefit from therapy from the larger centres of population of Ipswich and Colchester as well as the surrounding rural towns and villages.
